In humanities, we are studying Mexico and the Mayans. The children are so enthused and are really interested in finding out about how the Ancient Mayan civilisation lived and some of the things they did. During our transition week back in July, we tasted some traditional Mexican food, researched the history of Mexico and listened to some customary Mexican music. Also, our classroom door now has a Mayan theme. We will be learning more about:
-Where Mexico is on a map.
-How the UK and Mexico compare.
-Who the Mayan people were.
-What life was like for the Mayans and what they believed.
-The Ancient Mayan Masks and sacrifices.
-Why the Mayans disappeared.
-Mayan myths and legacy.
