Governance in Holy Spirit
Chair of Governors
If you wish to contact the Chair of Governors, please direct your enquiry through the school email holyspirit@sthelens.org.uk, and mark for the attention of the Chair.
Our Governing Body provides strategic direction and acts as a “critical friend”, supporting and also challenging the school to improve continuously. It monitors and evaluates pupil progress, has overall responsibility for the school budget and contributes to school development plans.
Role of the Headteacher
The Headteacher is responsible for the internal organisation and day-to-day management and control of the school and the implementation of the strategic framework established by the Governing Body.
Headteacher
The Headteacher is a Governor by virtue of office.
Staff Governors
The Staff Governors are employed by the school and are elected by the staff.
Parent Governors
Parent governors are elected by other parents at the school. Any parent or carer of a registered pupil at the school at the time of election is eligible to stand for election as a parent governor. Parent governors may continue to hold office until the end of their term of office even if their child leaves the school.
Foundation Governors
Foundation Governors are appointed by the Archdiocese of Liverpool.
