Year 4

Welcome to our Year 4 class page!

Class Teacher - Mrs Sharrock

Teaching Assistant - Ms Burrows

Year 4 is such a wonderful year and we are really looking forward to our new learning and exciting times to come.  We are building on all of our previous learning in Year 3 and will have lots of fun along the way. We love sharing our work with you as we continue through our busy year. Make sure you check out our webpage and X (formerly Twitter) for regular updates and new pictures of your child's learning. From making electrical circuits in Science to creating Festival Feasts with clay, our learning is always interesting!

Times tables MTC June 2025

We will be taking the national Multiplication Test Check in June 2025. This is an online test which children complete in school. Our children will have lots of practice beforehand and there's no time like the present to start practicing those times tables skills.

Spellings

We will also send home spellings on a Monday for a spelling test on the following Monday. If your child doesn't do as well as we know they can with their spellings, they will be retested on the following Wednesday. Please practice their spellings with them as this helps them greatly in their other lessons.

PE

During Autumn term we have PE on a Monday and a Thursday.  Please ensure that your child has full school PE kit on those days.

In our Picture News we learned that we are all individual, here we have talked about what is important to us.

Our visits to Ashton's Green Allotments help us understand nature in a 'hands on' way! We have learned how bees make honey, and it as delicious!

We love our keyboard lessons with Mr Delaney. We have learned how to use both hands to play musical notation!

Our Fun Friday is a lovely way to end the week. Here we are enjoying some games and activities to promote collaboration and fun!

We love our PE lessons, learning how to pass the ball and focus on throwing and catching to eventually play handball successfully.

In Spanish we learned a song about body parts... its a catchy tune!

Bookies and Cookies

Year3 and Year 4 welcomed our parents and carers into school to share our love of reading! we had an opportunity to browse the book fair and read some stories together. #Reading #CommunityLinks

Our Prayer and Liturgy focused on how the Holy Spirit can help us shine the brightest!

Our fabulous As Creatives Ancient Greeks workshop focused on many historical events of the time. We had lots of fun recreating the events through drama!

We're improving our oracy skills - celebrating National Poetry Day, we recited a poem written by Paul Delaney.
