Equality objectives
The Equalities Act requires schools to show that they are advancing the equalities agenda by publishing objectives that are specific and measurable.
We are committed to ensuring that our targets reflect the school aims and ethos, assisting all pupils to achieve their maximum potential through progression and attainment.
We are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents and carers, irrespective of race, gender, disability, belief, religion or socio-economic background.
In order to further support pupils, raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching, our equality targets are:
1. To monitor and analyse pupil achievement by race, gender, SEND, numbers of ACES and disadvantage and act on any trends or patterns in the data that require additional support for pupils.
2. To raise and sustain staff awareness of the importance of ensuring equality of opportunity for all members of the school community, through further understanding of the teaching of Protected Characteristics, in line with Catholic teaching.
3. To promote understanding and respect for differences by identifying opportunities within our curriculum and beyond, to look at other cultures/countries, study famous people from ethnic minorities and with a variety of abilities, and to celebrate diversity in all its forms.
